The three buildings on the right comprise the Main Villa -- the middle of the 3 buildings is the Great Room (living room, dining room and kitchen overlooking the pool patio and hot tub to the west) with bedroom pavilions on either side (each bedroom pavilion has 2 spacious, air-conditioned bedrooms each with a private bathroom). As the owner's of Great Expectations, we take your safety seriously. Safes are located in each bedroom, each room and building can be totally secured whether you are at the Villa or out enjoying yourself at the beach.

Thanks to the world-famous US National Park and St. John's popularity, there is a lot of building all over the island -- including along the road on which Great Expectations is located -- so we apologize if any construction activities disturbs your well-deserved vacation. If you find yourself on the island's narrow roads driving behind a slow moving concrete truck, please be patient and do not try to do what the locals do and attempt to pass on the dangerous blind hills and curves; we sincerely want you to enjoy yourselves in safety and good health! While the Pond Pay Club (45 'luxurious' vacation homes with a '5 star' restaurant which will be open to the public) is finally under construction at the northern end of Chocolate Hole harbor, it is not even visible from Great Expectations. Also, more good news is that while construction work starts early on St. John (around 7AM, before the heat of the day) usually it is just during the week and stops early (around 3PM) so, if we may suggest -- wherever you stay on our wonderful island -- do plan your (week) days to be off at one of our incredible white-sand beaches (there are 39 of them), snorkeling in our turquoise-blue waters, taking a boat trip around the island or to the nearby British Virgin Islands. exploring St. John's many renowned hiking trails (go on the National Park Service's Reef Bay Trail hike and return aboard the Sadie Sea), experiencing our island's awe-inspiring views, or enjoying our many great restaurants and shops (the US Virgin Islands is 'duty-free'!).
