St John tennis courtOur St John villa, Great Expectations, has the only doubles tennis and basketball court on the island.  Over the years the court has been used by kids & adults as well as beginners & pros.  If you think basketball and tennis are the only activities for this court, you'd be wrong.  This large fenced in area serves as a great (and very safe) 'playground' for kids using footballs, soccer balls, large beach balls, and yes, tennis and basketballs.  We have them all!  Tennis racquets, too.

The court is unique in another way in that the view is fabulous.  Peering out over Chocolate Hole you can watch the boats come and go from the harbor and often see cruise ships pass by the mouth of the harbor.  It is often hard to keep your eye on the ball while there is so much beauty surrounding you!

For serious tennis players, you might be interested to know that the the surface of the court is DecoTurf, the same as used by the US Open. Deco Systems offers the best-known tennis court surfaces in the world. DecoTurf has been selected for use at the world's most prestigous tournaments including the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, and at the USTA National Tennis Center, site of the US Open since 1978. Deco offers numerous multi-layer tennis court systems and has a well-established network of Authorized Applicators around the world.
