Great for kids of all ages
St John is a perfect vacation spot for families with young - or not so young - kids. The waters of St John are pristine and the beaches have white, silky sand and gentle entrances so kids can stay at the water's edge and watch little fishies swimming by them. Most of the beaches of St John has very gentle entries. What a perfect spot to introduce your kids (or spouse) to the joys of snorkeling.
Lots of space to spread out
Great Expectations has become one of the most popular villas for families - large and small - vacationing together. With lots of common gathering areas such as our centrally located Great Room, pool patio with comfy lounge chairs and plenty of hammocks - and, for the energetic, the basketball and tennis court, guests have lots of space to mingle.
BUT, everybody also deserves a bit of quiet time and private space during their week in paradise so you will also value the layout of the bedrooms which are separated from the Great Room as well as private patios providing people a bit of their own space.
Parents have found Great Expectations super kid-friendly
Parents have found the huge enclosed tennis court area a wonderful playground for small children. Besides having kids sharpen their tennis skills we have had kids find many other uses for the tennis court area.
For the older ones, the basketball hoop also provides an opportunity to let off some steam after a hard day on the beach!
The layout of Great Expectations is ideal for families. Parents with teenagers will especially appreciate the Club Room with its own TV and DVD player for the kids to watch their own movies. This exercise room often is converted to a 'teens' bedroom giving the teenagers their own bit of privacy (but, not too far away).
Parents with young children seem to love the wading pool which is conveniently located adjacent to the Great Room and main swimming pool patio area. Kids will find lots of sand toys. "The last of our children and families have flown off and the house is again empty and quiet. The unanimous decision was that all had had a wonderful time at Great Expectations. The house was spacious, allowing people to spread out, and very comfortable and well appointed. The views were spectacular! Every morning was spent at a beach.
